Insurance

Anybody with a standard drivers license can legally drive a 3.5 tonne lorry

Our insurers will insure drivers with over 3 years experience on a clean licence between the ages of 23 - 75
-
You will need to sign and agree to paying the Insurance excess in the event of a claim.

You should insure your own horse and carry the horse passport with you at all times

The insurance is invalid for theft if there keys are left in the lorry or it is unlocked

We have breakdown recovery in place - details will be in the hire contract.
Regulations
-
You should always keep the horse box locked whilst you are away from the vehicle and keep the keys safely on your person

Please return the horsebox with a full tank of fuel or else you will be charged for any shortage at a rate of 50p per miles used

Maximum mileage for any day hire is 200 miles additional miles charged at 50p / mile ( half day hire is 100 mile allowance )

No smoking is allowed in or within the vicinity of the vehicle

Payload of the vehicle including full tank of fuel and two persons is 1050kg. ( 1 large horse
Deposits & Payment

Deposit payments are £ 50 and have to be made direct to our bank account by transfer to comply with ID checks . Deposits are returned after the hire is completed subject to any damage agreed and our conditions of contract .

Final hire payments can be made by bank transfer in advance or credit/debit card on the day in person .

We reserve the right to take a further security deposit of up to £700 for new customers
Documents

We will need a copy of your licence and code from DVLA to check plus 2 utility/ bank statements within 3 months of date of hire
